So unfair. And BAD publicity for the casino. Mostly, a few big winners will HELP casinos…great publicity, and gets more players, hoping to win too! Now, the casino has GIVEEN ITSELF bad publicity! Stupid! I agree…the CASINO forgot to upgrade…it’s THEIR fault. THIS TIME, THE CASINO IS CHEATING!

ok so you put $2000 dollars through a slot machine and then you got to the manager and say-uh i had a brain malfunction and didn’t mean to put all that money in…can i have it back?
    give her the money!!!!!

The casino would have better publicity to just pay it. It’s THEIR fault for not updating their software not the players.
People that can’t understand this must work for the casino.
So by the rationale that malfunction voids a payout, who’s to say what a real malfunction is, the casino? In that case, it’s a conflict of interest because the casino is the one paying, so every jackpot can become a “malfunction.”

Of course this woman DOES NOT deserve the million.

NOWHERE is there a promise of a $1 million jackpot. The top prize is clearly stated on the progressive board. That total was just over $800, and that’s all she’s entitled to.

Anybody who disagrees is dishonest and would probably keep the incorrect change given by a cashier at the supermarket.

I think what it comes down to is that the machine said the jackpot was $1M. Regardless of whether it was a programming mistake or not, she spent X amount of dollars attempting to win that $1M prize. Had she known the prize was only $800 she might not have wasted her time.

This is false advertising and is illegal.

Also, the machine says “Payments can be reversed due to malfuntion”. The machine did not malfunction. Therefor she is not bound by statement on the front of the machine.

Two wrongs do not make a right.
The reason we have rules and laws is to provide an attempt at an equal playing field. While you are right that most do not follow the rules. That does not make it “right”. As long as you POST your rules for your business those are the rules. What I have never liked is the “Ignorance of the law is no excuse” I believe ignorance is the only excuse folks have.

well the casino don’t play by the rules why should anybody else, and the same reason that they have no excuse to why card counting is illegal because its business its all about the money there are no rules or laws

yh but if they didnt upgrade their progressive jackpot system surely its human error? (i’m not claiming it is i’m just asking isn’t that the reason like it stated in the video?)

Games shows and Casino’s are very different and subject to different laws. Rules are Rules. Don;t like them? Don’t play!

If the game show had a sticker on the show that said “malfunctions void all pays and plays. ” Then you would have to abide by the rule.

Clearly it was a malfunction. IGT based machines can be configured to various payouts but it should be uniform across the board.
Instead the top pay out goes from 776.00 -784.00 – 792.00 and then should be 800.00 but instead jumps to the 1 million figure. Had the next line had the same error it would be human error but since the next line has the correct figures (48.50 -49.- 49.50 – 50.) It will be found that the EEPROM for this machine is damaged and the payout is void. Sorry Mrs Privee.

They can easily say its a malfunction because on every slot machine they say malfunction voids all pays and plays.

A similar incident like this happened at the Sandia Casino in Albuquerque, NM.

In every single game show, if there is any sort of error or malfunction on the part of the game show people, the contestant will always be given the money or prize.

This is no different. Give her the million and maybe inspect your fucking machines more often. This was in no way a malfunction. Clearly they could have noticed this error and fixed it. It doesn’t matter if it was their fault or the machine acting weird. GIVE HER THE MONEY

Yeah, and MORON describes you to a ‘T’. The machine did not malfunction did it?

It was programmed with a Million Dollar jackpot. The casino said they did not update the software.

THAT is no malfunction (at least for anyone who’s brain is not malfunctioning)

it’s a fair game. If the machine was broken and she lost all her money im sure the casino wouldn’t be giving her money. Thing is, its fair on both sides playing with a broken machine, she should get the fuckin money as she has lost her money on the broken machine. Fucking assholes at the casino just wanna keep making money and dont like when they lose
