The idea of going to a casino to win money is foolish. Never, and I mean never, ever go to the casino with more money than you can afford to lose. You have to think like you might win but will probably end up losing.

If you take $1000 then you will profit $100 about 9 out of ten times while the 10 time you lose your thousand.
Avoid Big 6 and Roulette and “other stuff”.

take 30 dollars and buy some good poker books. i recommend getting championship NL holdem by tom Mcevoy and TJ cloutier as a first book because its simple and the tight style is right for getting started at the “pleasure poker” limits.
after reading it, take 100 bucks to the casino and play the lowest stakes NLHE the casino offers. you should not go to play in the middle of the day or on a monday (when mostly strong players will be at the tables). the best time to play is a friday or saturday evening or right around the time that a large sporting event in the area ends (college football is starting this saturday so that’s a good event) as you’re likely to catch non-serious players then too.
play tightly as the book recommends, not going in with anything less than 2 pair made hand or 15 (plausible) outs to a draw(AsKs on a flop of Ts 4s 3c) and don’t be upset to leave with like 60 of your 100 dollars the first time because sometimes you play well and lose.
Playing poker against other players is the only way to go to a casino and expect to make money. all the other games have a house edge and in the long run you will lose. THERE IS NO SYSTEM TO BEAT THOSE GAMES

If you want to assure coming out ahead you have to learn to beat the system. Casinos are set up for you to lose so you must put the odds in your favor.
Blackjack can be fun if you learn to count cards a little bit. Even a simple method would swing the odds in your direction.
However, the best way to win is to play roulette and only stay on even or odd. Pick one and never stray. There is a 50% chance it’ll land. You aren’t going to win a ton each time but it’ll build up. There are two ways that you can do it that will work. First, start with a small bet and put it on Even (or odd…whatever). If you lose, double your bet. If you win, start back with your orignal bet. Statistically you will always come out on top in the end.
For instance…
Bet 1 = 1 Chip — Lose (1 total lost)
2 = 2 chips — Lose (3 total)
3 = 4 chips — Lose (7 total)
4 = 8 chips — Win (8 win – 7 lost = 1 more than you started with).
Its a slow way to hack at it but it works.
If you go in with a little more money, multiple by 3 instead. Much bigger wins…
Bet 1 = 1 Chip — Lose (1 lost)
2 = 3 Chips — Lose (4 total)
3 = 9 Chips — Lose (13 total)
4 = 27 Chips — Lose (40 total)
5 = 81 — Win (81 win – 40 lost = 41 better than you started)
Trust the numbers and you will never lose.
